Free Photo Editing Tools

I really like taking pictures of different places or events that I attend. Some events or places I attend can be personal or business. In this case, the event that you may have attended may be a business opportunity or for social networking and you wanted to take photos as a remembrance or display the photos taken at an event on your social networking sites, your website, or even your blog. What if the photos you have taken made need some modifications or adjustments before you upload them in various locations? There are two free photo editing software tools that can be used as part of making quick modifications to your photos before uploading them to your website, your blog, or even to a social networking site.

Paint.Net. This free photo editing software has some similarities that of Photoshop. It has a simple but easy to use interface. I like the fact that Paint.Net has a thumbnail feature that displays when you open up a photo as well as keeping a log of the actions that were performed when making modifications to your photos in the history box.

Seashore. This free photo editor in case you have a Macintosh like I do (Yes, I have a PC and a Macintosh). Even though I have iPhoto on my Macintosh; I still use Seashore just to do some basic image editing in which it provides me with a simple and easy to use interface and not replacing the other photo editor tools such as Photoshop for more advance modifications.

I would like to know, do you use any free to low free or low cost photo editing tool to make modifications to your photos? Please feel free to leave your comments below.

One of the tools I have that I couldn’t live without is Snagit by Techsmith (makers of Camtasia).

It let’s me select anything at all and make a graphic file from it.
